
Literary readings in Ukrainian towns

The objective of the project is to enhance the prestige of reading in Ukraine’s district centers, introduce residents of Ukrainian town to contemporary Ukrainian literature, and include them in one cultural field along with big cities.
Writers Victoria Amelina, Halyna Vdovychenko, Kateryna Kalytko, Pavlo Korobchuk, Oleh Kotsarev, Andriy Kurkov, Myroslav Laiuk, Iryna Tsilyk, Artem Cheh, Petro Yatsenko, Mila Ivantsova, Anatoliy Dnostrovyi, Maryna Hrymych, Andrij Bondar, Ivan Andrusiak and Iren Rozdobudko have taken part in the project to date.
Events within the frameworks of Lacework took place in Berehove, Mukachevo (Zakarpatia), Izmail and Kilia (Odesa), Izium and Chuhuiv (Kharkiv), Melitopol and Berdiansk (Zaporizhia), Henichesk and Novooleksiivka (Kherson), Baturyn and Bakhmach (Chernihiv), Kremenchuk, Kozelshchyna and Kobeliaky (Poltava), Kamianske and Novomoskovsk (Dnipro), Nova Odesa and Voznesensk (Mykolaiv).
