Rodina Iryna

Head of Communications

Iryna graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (2019) and received a master's degree in international journalism from the Institute of International Relations, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (2020).

Erasmus+ scholar. Studied journalism and political science at the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland. In 2020, Iryna received an international Chevening scholarship funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom. She obtained a MSc in Human Rights and Politics at the London School of Economics and Political Science and was awarded distinction for her dissertation on the recognition and political representation of the Crimean Tatars as an indigenous people of Ukraine.

During 2017–2019, Iryna volunteered for the Q-hub NGO. She managed the communications department and worked with educational projects for the internally displaced students from the occupied Crimea. From 2017 to 2020, she was an international news correspondent for Channel 5 (Ukraine). Since November 2021, she is the Head of Communications at PEN Ukraine.
