Details of the case:
Born on December 16, 1985, Vilen Temeryanov is a Crimean Tatar. He has a wife and 3 children. His younger son has a cardiac disease. The 6-year-old boy has already undergone 3 surgeries and is going to have another high-complex one.
Before his imprisonment, Vilen filmed searches in the Crimean Tatars’ houses on his phone camera. He became a civic journalist of the Crimean Solidarity and covered many court hearings in the cases of political prisoners. While in custody himself, Vilen is suffering from sight deterioration: he is now in need of glasses his relatives have sent to him. He also needs help from a dentist since, according to him, almost nothing has left of his teeth.
Vilen is imprisoned under the article 205.5, chapter 2 of the Russian Federation’s Criminal Code ("Providing the activity of an organization recognized as terroristic in the accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation") and his sentence is still unknown. He is held in the detention center №1 in the city of Rostov-on Don, Russian Federation.
