Sviato Roksolana
Translator, literary scholar, literary critic. Translates from German, English, and Polish into Ukrainian. Born in 1983 in Kyiv.
Graduated from the National University "Kyiv Mohyla Academy", where she studied history, theory of literature, and comparative studies (1995—2005). 2005—2008 – PhD program at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
In the 2000s worked as a literary editor for several Ukrainian publishing houses. As a literary critic wrote for several Ukrainian literary and cultural magazines and websites. In 2008 was an author and a columnist for the magazine "Ukrainsky Zhournal" (Ukraine — Czech Republic). Was a regular contributor to the literary website "Litakcent".
In 2008 was a lecturer at the University "Kyiv Mohyla Academy".
Over ten years was a member of the editorial board of the magazine "Kino-Teatr" (2015) and a member of the Center of Cinematography Studies at the Kyiv Mohyla University.
2009 — a libretto author for the experimental opera "Solitude" (composer – Anastasiya Komlikova), which premiered at the Opera Studio by the National Music Academy of Kyiv.
2013—2016 — book reviews’ editor of the "Krytyka"-magazine, translator, co-worker.
Since 2020 року — editor of Ukrainian and Polish translations at the "Kupido Literaturverlag" publishing house (Cologne, Germany).
Since 2018 lives as a free translator and author.
