Nikolaichuk Iryna

Literary scholar and critic, publisher, chief editor and co-founder of the Creative Women Publishing

Born in 1991 in the village of Pobychi (Ovruch district, Zhytomyr region).

She graduated from National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy (BA in Philology, 2012; MA in Literature and Comparative Studies, 2014).

Since 2016, she has been working as a reviewer, interviewer, and cultural analyst for the media such as LitAccent, Chytomo, Bokmal, Yakaboo Book Blog, Dilova Stolytsia, Gender in Details etc.

In 2019, she became a co-founder of the Creative Women Publishing, the first feminist publishing house in Ukraine.

As a lecturer, she worked for institutions and projects such as Cultural Project, the Museum of Book and Printing, Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung (Kyiv-Ukraine bureau), Litosvita, Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

As a copyeditor and translation editor, she works for publishing houses such as Tempora, Knyholove, Komora, Portal, Ridan Mova, George, Laboratoria, Vivat, Nasha Idea, Artbooks, The Old Lion Publishing House, Ranok etc.

Iryna works as a moderator of presentations and cultural and book events within book fairs and festivals such as the Book Arsenal, Book Forum, Vidsich, Book Country, BestsellerFest, Frankfurter Buchmesse. She participates in TV shows, podcasts and YouTube projects dedicated to literature, publishing business, feminism and women’s movement at Suspilne, Ukrainian Radio, Radio Culture, Radio Promin, Divchata NGO, Goethe-Institut Ukraine, Hromadske Radio etc.

Since 2022, she has been part of the curatorial team of the German-Ukrainian literary blog Lektüra launched by Goethe-Institut Ukraine and designed for covering literary and cultural ties between Germany and Ukraine.
