Writer, curator of art projects and literary scholar.

Selected essays and excerpts from his books have been translated into ten languages. Author of fiction books: Amnesia (2013), Attitudism (2014, longlisted for the 2014 BBC Book of the Year), Astra (2015, longlisted for the 2015 BBC Book of the Year), art book The Murks (with artist Sonia Melnyk, 2016), nonfiction research See To Be Seen: Reality Show, Reality Novel and Online Revolution (2016), collection of short stories Transition (2017), nonfiction research "I Will Mix Your Blood with Coal": Understanding Ukrainian East (2020, longlisted for the 2020 BBC Book of the Year and the Yuri Shevelov Prize, LitAccent of the Year Special Honor).

Oleksandr translated Marina Abramović’s autobiography Walk Through Walls: A Memoir into Ukrainian (2018, shortlisted for the Lviv UNESCO City of Literature Prize).

Research fellow at the Theory of Literature Department, Taras Shevchenko Institute of Literature, National Academy of Science of Ukraine.

Author and host of Station 451 literary podcast (The Village Ukraine’s project).

Participant of literary residencies in Finland, Latvia, Iceland, the USA, and France.

Curator of the GogolFest literature program (2012-2013) and dozens of exhibition projects.

As a chief screenwriter, he took part in creation of several seasons of The Journey Book. Ukraine animation project.
