Gnedkova Ganna

Author, translator, journalist

She was born in 1992 in Kyiv. She is an author, translator (from German and English, and vice versa), journalist for "Chytomo," and chair of the NGO "Media Center of the Ukrainian Community in Vienna." She has translated approximately 40 books and received translation grants from the Österreichische Gesellschaft für Literatur, Creative Europe, and House of Europe.

She holds a master’s degree from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Since 2015, she has lived in Austria, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in comparative literature and works as a German language instructor at a college in Vienna.

She is the winner of the Austrian Exil Literaturpreis für Lyrik (2020) and has also been recognized at the Godesberger Literaturpreis, Der goldene Pod, and Raniser Debüt Stipendium competitions.

She is a co-founder and moderator of the Vienna-based literary club LiterAktiv, which promotes Ukrainian literature abroad. In 2022, she edited a collection of essays on the Russian war against Ukraine from 2014 to 2022 titled "Ukraine mon amour: Stimmen einer freien Nation" (published by Passagen).
