Sushko Foundation
Smart Foundation is a charitable foundation which introduces and supports new standards of cultural and educational development of the society.
Created by Ukrainian entrepreneur and philanthropist Mykola Sushko in 2018, the Foundation supports projects that contribute to the shaping of the intellectual elite of Ukraine.
The Foundation prioritizes the development of school-age children who live out of Ukraine's largest cities. It also works with the elderly who want to gain new knowledge and skills to later take on significant social tasks as part of their activities.
In 2020, Smart Foundation transformed Kozelshchyna’s O.Honchar Central District Library into a modern public culture and education Smart Space in Poltava region. In addition, the organization launches educational programs for the community popularizing reading and self-development. Smart Space is an already realized model for rehabilitation of libraries across entire Ukraine.
The mission of the Foundation is to shape the intelligent and healthy Ukrainian population able to build its future independently.

2022 - Here-And-Now: Stories of Journalists at the War

The project of PEN Ukraine in collaboration with George Gongadze Prize and The Ukrainians. "Here And Now: Stories of Journalists at the War" is a project which contains 15 stories of those who cover and reflect on the full-scale invasion of Russia against Ukraine, who shoot and record stories from the frontline and the rear, who go live from the air-raid shelters, alongside those who have enlisted to the Armed Forces. All these people speak on their personal and professional choices. The stories of the project can be read and listened to.
2021 – Intellectual Studies in Smart Space
PEN Ukraine and Smart Foundation's joint project Intellectual Studies in Smart Space commenced in November 2021. The project activities are taking place in Kozelshchyna, Poltava region.
2019 - Literary readings in Ukrainian towns

The objective of the project is to enhance the prestige of reading in Ukraine’s district centers, introduce residents of Ukrainian town to contemporary Ukrainian literature, and include them in one cultural field along with big cities.
Events within the frameworks of Lacework took place in Berehove, Mukachevo (Zakarpatia), Izmail and Kilia (Odesa), Izium and Chuhuiv (Kharkiv), Melitopol and Berdiansk (Zaporizhia), Henichesk and Novooleksiivka (Kherson), Baturyn and Bakhmach (Chernihiv), Kremenchuk, Kozelshchyna and Kobeliaky (Poltava), Kamianske and Novomoskovsk (Dnipro), Nova Odesa and Voznesensk (Mykolaiv).
