Natalka Vorozhbyt
Natalka Vorozhbyt - playwright, screenwriter, director, curator of theater and social projects.
She was born in Kyiv in 1975. She graduated from the Literary Institute named after Gorky (2000, Moscow). Lives and works in Kyiv since 2004.
Co-founder of the festival "Week of Actual Play", " Displaced People Theatre", "Playwrights Theatre", co-author of the documentary project "Maidan Diaries", curator of the theater and social project "Class Act: East-West", etc. Most of these projects are related to working with people who survived and are still going through the war in Ukraine.
The author of about twenty plays, which were staged in different countries of the world and translated into about 15 foreign languages, some of them were published in the form of a book. And about 10 film scripts. All works touch on important dramatic events in Ukraine.
Participant of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa (USA), 2004. Winner of the "Women in Arts" award in the category "Women of Theater and Cinema" (2020).
Laureate of the state national award named after Shevchenko (2022) for the play "Bad Roads" and the state award named after Dovzhenka for contribution to the art of cinema (2021).

- "Bad Roads" - director's debut 2020, film club award in the parallel program of the Venice Film Festival "Critics' Week" for the best innovative film, three awards from the "Kinokol" award and four "Golden Spindles", including for the best screenplay. In 2021, the film "Bad Roads" was selected by the Ukrainian Oscar Committee for nomination from Ukraine to the "Oscar"
- Short film "Are you Ok?" (2022), director, was shown at the opening of the Locarno festival and won the "Critics' Week" competition in Ukraine in 2022.
