Volvach Pavlo
Born on 9 October 1963 in Zaporizhzhia, he is a poet and prose writer. Moreover, he is a member of the National Writers’ Union of Ukraine.
As mentioned in the poet’s biography, "everything’s quite usual, or almost so: school, plant, evening school. Then service in the army followed, an engineer battalion and communication center. After the service, a job again, plants, walkthroughs, some impromptu ‘bureaus’ or rather cooperatives and private enterprises, which have just started then. At the same time, street life and other aspects of a big industrial city were bustling. Poems were written. When another business broke – "Auto Parts" Store – where I worked as a loader, I got a job at the Zaporizhzhia Regional TV Company".
Pavlo graduated from Zaporizhzhia National University (Department of Philology, emphasis in journalism).
For 5 years, he was an editor at the information department of the Zaporizhzhia Regional TV Company. Took an active part in the national revolutionary events in 1980-1990s.
Since 1999, he has resided in Kyiv. Worked as a correspondent with the Ukrainian Service of Radio Liberty. Was a deputy chief editor at the Suchasnist magazine. Works at Ukrainian Radio since 2012. Columnist at the Kraina magazine.
His works have been translated into English, Turkish, Polish, Serbian, Macedonian and other languages.
