Suzdalova Dasha
Dasha Suzdalova is a poet, writer and translator. Born in 1988 in Siverskodonetsk (Luhansk region), she grew up in Enerhodar (Zaporizhzhia region). She graduated from Dnipro National University as an MA in international relations. Her poetry and prose have been translated into English, Polish, Slovak languages and published in various magazine and anthologies. Suzdalova is the author of poetry collections such as "Ми — пограничні" / "My — Pograniczni" (Sejny, 2022) and I Offered, Butchers ("Я запропонувала, м’ясники", Dnipro, 2024). She is a translator of contemporary English-language poetry (Rae Armantrout, R. B. Lemberg) and recipient of fellowships from Bundeskunsthalle Museum (Bonn, Germany), Borderland Foundation (Sejny, Poland), International Writers 'and Translators' House (Ventspils, Latvia) etc.
Together with Dutch American writer Lisa Friedman, Suzdalova is a co-organizer of the online seminar Writing for Peace: Staying Creative in Difficult Times (Amsterdam Writing Workshops, 2023). She partook in various festivals, namely that of the German Ukrainian art laboratory Guilt and Shame (TIU Mariupol Platform and Bridgeworks, Berlin, 2024). In 2023, she audited courses such as theory of literature, postcolonial writing, and philosophy at the University of Bonn.
In 2023-2025, she has been working as a managing volunteer in the field of medical evacuation of Ukrainians from the frontline territories.
