Olena Stepanenko
Olena Stepanenko (Prylutska) was born on 28 May 1974 in the village of Talalaivka, Chernihiv region.
Olena is the co-organizer of War and Word art initiative, as well as an active participant of various art events and festivals. Vocal cycles and choral works based on Olena Stepanenko’s poems and Iryna Andriychuk’s music have been performed in Baltic countries, Poland, Germany, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands and Spain.

Her poems have been published in numerous anthologies, such as Dvi tonny / Two Tonnes, Antolohia Smoloskypa / Smoloskyp’s Anthology, Snovydy / Sleepwalkers, Solomonova chervona zirka / Solomon’s Red Star among others.
Distinctions
- Olena has won Smoloskyp (first award) and Hranoslov literary contests. She is the winner of the Mikhas Straltsou 5th International Poetry Festival in poetry slam (Minsk, Belarus, 2016).
