Protsiuk Stepan
Born on 13 August 1964 in the village of Kuty, Brody District (now Busk District) in Lviv region in the family of a political prisoner, he is a writer and literary critic. In a few years the family moved to Ivano-Frankivsk. Stepan Protsiuk graduated from Ivano-Frankivsk Pedagogical Institute, and did his postgraduate studies at the Institute of Literature at NASU. He is a candidate of Philology, and teaches Ukrainian Literature at Ivano-Frankivsk Precarpathian University.
From 1995 to 2017, Stepan was a member of the National Writers’ Union of Ukraine.
The author has held literary evenings in many cities across Ukraine: Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Odesa, Ternopil, Uzhhorod, Chernivtsi, Lutsk, as well as abroad, in Krakow, Berlin, Olomouc, Paris, Helsinki, Rome, Chicago, New York, and others.
Stepan Protsiuk’s works have been translated into foreign languages (German, Slovak, Polish, Czech and others).

Distinctions
Stepan Protsiuk is a laureate of numerous national literary awards. He is a seven-time winner of The Courier of Kryvbas Journal Award (1998–2003), Blahosvit Award (2000), Ivan Franko Urban Prize for Literature (2002), Stefanyk Regional Prize for Literature. In September 2015 Protsiuk received the title of "Ukraine’s Golden Writer".
