Art manager, curator of contemporary art, General Director of Mystetskyi Arsenal

Olesia Ostrovska-Liuta is the Director General of the National Art and Culture Museum Complex "Mystetskyi Arsenal" (Art Arsenal), as well as a Board member of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and the Health Solutions for Open Society foundation.

Previously, she was a Board member of the Ukrainian Institute, the East Europe Foundation, the Warm City platform for civic initiatives, and the CEDOS think tank. She was also the head of the Program Board, Social Capital program, at the International Renaissance Foundation.

In 2014, Olesia Ostrovska-Liuta served as Ukraine's First Deputy Minister of Culture and the First Deputy to the Head of the National Committee for UNESCO.

She also works as a curator of contemporary art and writes on culture and policy for Ukrainian and foreign outlets. Among her recent curated projects is The Heart of Earth exhibition at Mystetskyi Arsenal, Kyiv, November 2022-February 2023

Some publications include collective volumes such as Dialogues about the War, produced by PEN-Ukraine, State of War: Anthology, published by Meridian Czernowitz, and Terra Invicta. Ukrainian Wartime Reimagining for A Habitable Earth, published by McGill-Queen’s University Press.

Olesia Ostrovska-Liuta holds several awards, such as the Women in Arts by UN Women, Person of the Decade by NV.ua magazine, UP 100 Power of Women by Ukrainska Pravda outlet, and the 51st Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmy as a Consulting Producer (Daytime Special, Culture Quest: Ukraine).

Ostrovska-Liuta fluently speaks English, Polish, Russian, and Ukrainian as her native language.
