Nikitin Oleksiy

Ukrainian-Russian writer

Born on 7 January 1967 in Kyiv, Oleksiy is Ukrainian- and Russian-language writer.

Physicist by profession: in 1983–1990, he studied at the Department of Physics of the Kyiv State University. In 1985–1987, Oleksiy served in the army.

In 1990–1992, he worked as an engineer at the National Research Center for Radiation Medicine of NAMS of Ukraine. For the next 10 years he was engaged in business, and participated in development of emergency dust suppression system for the Shelter Structure of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

Since 2002 he has worked as a journalist. In 2005–2006, together with Anton Sanchenko and Owen Maher he was publishing "Fabula" magazine. In 2010 he was an editor of "Arrière-garde" almanac.

Oleksiy writes in Russian, and his works have been published since 1990. He lives in Kyiv, Ukraine.
