Malihon Anna

Anna was born on June 4, 1984, in Ukraine, Konotop city, Sumy region.

She graduated from Nizhyn Mykola Gogol State University in 2006. In 2008, Anna continued her education in Institute of Philology of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and obtained master’s degree in 2008.

The almanac "Slobozhanshchyna" in 2000 was the first to publish the poetry of the author. Since 2004, she has been a member of the National Writers’ Union of Ukraine. Anna’s writings belong to the so-called generation of "two-thousanders".

During her career this author became a laureate of many international literary awards as well as a participant of international literary festivals in Ukraine and abroad.

The author of the poetry collections "The Doorbell", "Blood Transfusion", "Abandoned Ships", "Initial Rain", "Burnt skin" (the chapbook translated into English by Olena Jennings), "The Rosary", the novel "Teach Her How to Do It", the fairy-tale for children "Carolina's Magical Album".

Anna’s poetry and prose were published in numerous Ukrainian and international literary almanacs, anthologies and collections, magazines, and periodicals.

The poems have been translated into Bulgarian, Polish, Czech, Georgian, Armenian, English and French languages.
