Ukrainian writer, translator

Born on 24 January 1961 in Lviv, he is a Ukrainian writer and translator.

Oleksandr grew up in Rivne. He finished 8 grades of the Rivne secondary school #18 (1976), Pedagogical College (Dubno, 1980) and the Gorky Literature Institute (Moscow, 1989).

His works have been translated into English, German, French, Swedish, Polish, Czech, Belarusian, Russian, Italian and Croatian.

In 1985, Irvanets together with Yuri Andrukhovych and Viktor Neborak founded a literary group "Bu-Ba-Bu" still functioning today.

Since 1993, he has resided in Irpin, the Kyiv region.

From the beginning of the 2000s, he has worked in dramaturgy and prose. Oleksandr has authored over two dozen of books and numerous publications in journals and almanacs of Europe and America.
