Fedorchuk Stanislav

In 2002-2003, he studied in the Donetsk National Vasyl Stus University (MA cum laude in political studies). During his studies, he was a fellow of the Smoloskyp International Charitable Foundation and Olzhych Research Foundation.

In 2003-2005, he worked as a project manager in the Donetsk regional organization of the Voters’ Committee of Ukraine. in 2005-2007, he also managed projects in the Donetsk regional youth organization Euroclub. In 2009, he started writing for the Novynar web media, Day newspaper and NGO.donetsk.ua portal. In 2010, he began cooperation with the media project Europe Above the Black Sea, and he also worked as a documentary screenwriter.

In 2010, he became a regular jury member of the Coronation of the Word contest in the Novels category.

He was a founder of the Civic Initiative for Restoration of National Memory in the Donetsk region, co-founder of the Eastern Ukrainian Brotherhood NGO, and head of the Youth Nationalistic Congress in the Donetsk Region. In 2012 and 2013, he coordinated the festival Night of Industrial Culture in the Donetsk region. In 2013, he started his PhD studies in social anthropology at the Institute of Folk Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He was a Euromaidan activist in Donetsk, Kyiv and Novohrad-Volynsky, and he took part in the Donetsk Euromaidan working group.

Fedorchuk is the laureate of the 2014 Yakiv Halchevskyi Prize for his essay collection Dismantling Hypocrisy ("Демонтаж лицемірства").

He was a volunteer of the 10^th territorial defense battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, then served in the 59^th separate mechanized brigade. In April 2017, he was elected Head of the Board of the Ukrainian People’s Council of the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions NGO. In 2018-2020, he was an Editorial Board member of the Ukrainian Book Printing Publishing House.

On 28 March 2022, he joined the territorial volunteering formation Svoboda (Freedom); in April, he enlisted in the Svoboda Battalion of the 4^th operational brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. In 2023, he was demobilized due to health reasons.

He was awarded the 2^nd Grade Cross of Valor (2009), a Commendation from the Supreme Court of Ukraine (2019), the Medal for Assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (2022), and the Badge of Honour from the Defense Ministry of Ukraine (2022).

Fedorchuk is a co-author and co-host of the program People of Light ("Люди світла") broadcasted on the Ukrainian Radio. The program is designed to promote well-known and less known Ukrainian activists of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and of Crimea.

He is a member of the working group with the Supreme Court Committee for developing national policies of re-integration and restoration of power and Ukrainian identity on the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
