Mark Belorusets was born on August 2, 1943, in Pervouralsk. From 1966 till 1998, he worked as a construction engineer.He translates German and Austrian literature, specifically German-speaking poets of Bukovina and Romania, into the Russian language.

Mark Belorusets finished the state foreign language courses (1966–1969) and started translating since then. Soon after, he learned about the Ukrainian dissident movement. His works has been already printed since 1978. Belorusets fancies the oeuvre of Paul Celan, Georg Trakl, Robert Musil, Günter Eich, Manès Sperber, Herta Müller, Alexander Kluge, Hertha Kräftner, Kerstin Hensel, Antje Rávic Strubel and others.
