Andriy Khayetskiy

Poet, public figure

Andriy Khayetskiy was born in 1988 in the city of Odesa and grew up in the town of Lyubashivka in the Odesa region. After completing school, he studied at Odesa National Polytechnic University, specializing in metrology. While technical sciences interested Khayetskiy to some extent, his passion leaned more toward literature - initially as a reader and later as a creator.

Around 2012, he started participating in poetic readings at various venues in the city of Odesa, presenting Ukrainian poetry to the audience. In 2015, he participated in the 'Bessarabian Dialogues' project and was part of the Odesa International Literary Festival (later, in 2020, he served as both moderator and participant in the same festival).

In 2016, his collection of poems titled "Try krapky" (Three Dots) was published. That same year, Khayetskiy took part in the Publishers' Forum as part of the "Theater of Ears" project, of which he later became the leader (2018-2019). For several years (before the start of the coronavirus pandemic), Khayetskiy visited schools and libraries in his region (Savran, Anan'yiv, Lyubashivka, Bilyayivka, Ovidiopol, Dobroslav, the village of Stari Shompoli, and Odesa itself), conducting several meetings with students at Odesa National University, promoting contemporary Ukrainian literature.

From 2019 to 2021, he worked at the Odesa Regional Center for Patriotic Education and Leisure Activities for Children and Youth, which allowed him to further promote contemporary literature and reading in general.

In 2022, he participated in the poetry festival "MERIDIAN CZERNOWITZ" and the online anthology "State of War." In 2023, Khayetskiy took part in poetry readings as part of the "Book Arsenal."

In Odesa, he moderated literature events with Oleg Sentsov, Vitold Shablovsky, Kateryna Kalitko, Svitlana Povaliaieva, Pavlo Korobchuk, Andriy Bondar, Izdryk, Dmytro Lazutkin, Andriy Liubko, Oleg Kotarev, Iya Kiva, Ihor Astapenko, Valeriy Puzik, Yevheniia Zavaliy, and Nadiia Hlushkova.
