Olha Kupriian
Born on May 23, 1988, in the village of Makovysche in Kyiv region.
With over ten years of experience in literary criticism and promoting reading, she works with children, teenagers, and adults in the field of literary education as a lecturer and workshop leader. Alongside colleagues from the Children's Reading Laboratory of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, I developed the practical guide "Living Writers: How to Talk to Children about War and Peace".
She is the author of books for children and adolescents such as "Солоні поцілунки", "Боброго ранку!", "Беркиць проводжає дідуся", "Суперклей для вази", "Мамонт", "Кісточка оливи", "Коляда з лицарями", "Мирослава та інші з нашого двору", and the teenage series "Панна" among others. Her novel for adolescents "Щоденник Лоли" received the LitAkcent Award in 2018.
In collaboration with journalist Yanina Sokolova, she co-authored the adult book "Я, Ніна" (2019), which was awarded the BookForum Best Book Award 2020 in the "Contemporary Ukrainian Prose" category.
The book "Zagubiona Mruczusia / Муркиця загубилася" was published in a bilingual edition (Ukrainian and Polish) by the Polish publisher "Pogranicze".
Olha was a resident of various artistic programs in Ukraine and abroad, including "Author’s House" (Greece), the International Writer and Translator House in Ventspils (Latvia), the International Dialogue Centre named after Czeslaw Milosz in Krasnogruda (Poland), the "Krakow – UNESCO City of Literature" program, and have been a grantee of the Institute of Literature in Poland. She was also a resident of "Villa Salomea" (Ternopil, Ukraine).
Olha’s books have been featured in rankings of the best publications of the year according to PEN Ukraine and the All-Ukrainian "Book of the Year" rating.
