Isichenko Ihor, Archbishop
Born in Bashkiria, Russian Federation, in January 28, 1956. Secular name – Yuriy Isichenko.
Graduated from Kharkiv State University (1974-1979) as philologist (Ukrainian philology), Patriarch Mstyslav College as theologian (1993-1998).
Doctor of Philology: 1987, Taras Shevchenko Institute of Literature in Kyiv. Theme of the thesis: "Kyivan Caves Paterikon in the historican-literary process in Ukraine, 16th – 18th centuries". Habilitation: 2009, National University "Kyiv Mohyla Academy" in Kyiv. Theme of the thesis: "Ascetic Literature of the Kievan Rus".
School teacher (1979-1981). Lecturer (docent, professor) in the Vasyl Karazin Kharkiv National University (from 1981) - history of Ukrainian literature of 10th –18th centuries; lecturer in the Patriarch Mstyslav College (from 1995) – Church history; guest lecturer (docent, professor) in the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" (from 2005) – Ukrainian Baroque literature.
Head of Kharkiv regional (1990-1991) and All-Ukraine (1991-1992) Andrew the Apostle Brotherhood of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.
