Born on 25 February 1968 in Donetsk, Olena is a Ukrainian writer, publicist, Grand PhD in History, Professor of History. Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Ukrainian History in the second half of the XX century at the NAS Institute of History of Ukraine, Professor of the Department of Slavs’ History at the Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University; founder of the "De-occupation. Homecoming. Education" public movement.

Education:
• complete higher education in history (Donetsk National University, 1990)
• Graduate Studies in History (Donetsk National University, 1993)
• PhD in History; dissertation on "Cultural processes in Donbas in 1960-90s of the XX century" (Donetsk National University, 1996)
• Grand PhD in History; research work: "Women in the history of Ukrainian culture in the second half of the XX century" (Donetsk National University, 2003)
• internship at the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM, Austria)

Work activity:
Since 1993 – Professor of the Department of Slavs’ History at the Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University.
2015-2016 – Professor of the Department of Historical Disciplines at the Mariupol State University.
2016 (May) – guest course for MA students of the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy"
Since 2016 – Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Ukrainian History in the second half of the XX century at the NAS Institute of History of Ukraine
Authored above 90 scientific publications published both in Ukraine and abroad.
