Andrij Wachtel was born on January 19, 1990 in Kyiv. Philosopher, translator, cultural manager. He graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Theoretical and Practical Philosophy. He received his PhD with a thesis entitled "Phenomenology and Naturalism: From the phenomenological critique of naturalism to the naturalization of phenomenology" (2018). Fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), visiting scholar at the archive of Edmund Husserl, Cologne, Germany (2016-2017). Translator of E. Husserl’s work Cartesian Meditations (2021). Winner of the Nelli Ivanova-Georgievska competition of works by young researchers (2016). Winner of the Vitaly Tabachkovsky Prize for the best printed work of a young researcher in the field of philosophy (2021). In 2020–2021 he worked as a project manager of PEN Ukraine, in particular he was the coordinator of the projects "Online-residence for German translators", the literary festival-workshop for young authors "Propysy" and the video lecture series "Map of Ukraine". Research interests: phenomenology, naturalism, cognitive sciences, philosophical translation.
